Jem Structures is an on-site fabrication service.

This includes processes that are necessary before on site erection.

All our site operatives are fully CSCS compliant and have undergone training in this and other necessary safety procedures.

We work closely with our customers on-site management team as well as other contractors to work as effectively as possible. Our flexible approach to any unexpected issues on site means we minimise any difficulties and their impact on completion schedules.

Our On-Site Fabrication Process includes...

Drilling...

...various drilling methods are used on-site depending on tolerances required and materials. We always carry a wide selection of drills and drill bits to produce clean, burr-free finishes with no fracturing or material weakening or deflects. Great care is taken on site when drilling to ensure the safety of our operatives and others.

Plating...

...we are able to fabricate shapes to exact specifications by cutting, drilling and welding on site. This means we can add strengthening plates in situ or make amends to any steelwork on site. We find that customers value flexibility and on-site services like this.

Welding...

...on site welding is an important fabrication service. Often additional welding, away from the fabrication shop, is necessary and unavoidable. We can carry this out and also rectify any design and production issues discovered on location.

Finishing...

...we are experienced in applying various finishes to structural steelwork including paint.

Welding...

Here is an example of one of our more specialised welding, contracts,122 Leadenhall Street, better known in London as the Cheese Grater. With experience on other major London skyline projects, such as the Shard, the contractors engaged JEM to carry out important welding work.

Plate girders put up by on-site steel erectors required full penetration welding to join them together.

This picture shows the preliminary route runs and passes. This required the plate girders to be pre-heated to 200 degrees centigrade and then welded.
